Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was wonderful here. Great food (everything turned out well!---even the turkey!), great fellowship, great fun! Just very thankful that the Lord gave us such a wonderful day. My husband was an AWESOME help. He slaved scrubbing our windows (they'd been coated in hard water from our sprinkler), rearranged and cleaned the basement (no minor feat), peeled and chopped many potatos for REAL mashed potatos ( I hate peeling stuff!). What a guy! He set the table, carved the turkey, and helped around in so many other areas. I was completely non-stressed Thanksgiving Day because of that. Busy--but not stressed. He really took a load off me. So, yes, this Thanksgiving (of all the things I'm thankful for) I'm really, really, really, really, thankful for my husband!!! He kept the kids busy too...but he has such a wonderful way about him, that they don't mind being busy. It's just fun-with-dad time. That also freed me up to get more food prep done.
Soooooooooooooo...after the food, we watched a Tim Hawkin's DVD, and then we played some crazy table tennis games. I made up a game called "Chain pong". Since there were eight of us that wanted to play--and not enough paddles--we lined up, one behind the other in rows of 4. So we kept normal score, but what happens is, one person hits the ball runs to the back of the line and the next person hits the returning ball. Since we had 4 paddles, the first two people had them, but as soon as the first person hit the ball, he would pass it off to the third person as he ran to the back of the line after hitting the ball, and so on. It's probably not making much sense all typed out here, but it was a blast! It really helped us burn off that turkey! We were going to try another version of "doubles" table tennis with 3 per team, and call it "triples", but, again, not enough paddles. We'd just take turns hitting the ball, but I think what we ended up doing was a lot more fun anyways.
And so the day ends with me eating yet more pie...and blogging. Good end to a great day!
