I made Turkey Noodle Soup today. I liked it. David liked it. Angela ate it up without complaining. John didn't like it. But then, he doesn't like soup, or onions, or peppers or things with pepper in it (found that out too late after putting pepper in the soup--you'd think I'd learn by now!!), or peas. Or Chinese. Or casseroles. So if any of you have any great recipe ideas that omit the above--please let me know!! I'm running out of ideas, and my taste buds get bored easily. And I love onions, and pepper, and peas, and Chinese, and pepper (the spice) to heat things up.
He loves steak and potatos. Meat and potatos kind of guy. I could probably live as a vegetarian with the occasional chicken and eggs for protein. Ok...so vegetarians don't eat chicken and eggs, but I like my veggies and fruit. And spice. Maybe I will have to start making two different meals. More work and more money though. :-P He likes boxed meals, I like my meals from scratch. However, he did prefer the turkey I made and real mashed potatos....
Anyhoo....I need to stop watching shows like Iron Chef. They just make me want foods I'm not going to have. Nothing like torturing oneself. In case you haven't noticed, I'm a bit of a 'Food Junkie'. I'm not so big on sweets (though I do like my sugar in coffee, tea, and cereals). Just not into downing bags of candy and cookies. Of course, somebody made some extremely yummy peanut butter fudge over the holidays...
But I digress...again...
I like REAL foods. A variety of fruits, veggies and spices. As I've said before, I think Indian food is the perfect food. That's what we'll be eating in Heaven. I know it.
I have a Rachael Ray cookbook and she has loads of recipes for burger-type meals and mashed potatoes. You could always tweak them for his tastes.
ReplyDeleteThat's true---and I LOVE Rachael Ray!!!
