Easter

While the rest of my family was in Wisconsin celebrating Easter, we spent it alone as a family. Didn't do too much out of the ordinary. We couldn't join everyone else as April is a super busy month for John with Finals, Grading, Prep work etc. We do plan on being in Wisconsin for a couple weeks in the beginning of May.

I had prepped the Pot Roast the night before, so all I had to do this morning was plug it in. Super easy meal with Hawaiian rolls on the side. Love those things!

Went to church Sunday morning and Pastor preached on the Resurrection according to Jesus...or "as He said" in Matthew 28:6 It was very interesting to take a look at what Jesus himself said would take place concerning his death, burial and resurrection.
After lunch, I let the kids hunt for their Easter baskets. Didn't want to do that in the morning before church and have an added stressor. Not good on Sunday--especially Easter Sunday. Getting 3 kids ready for church is enough!
Then we rested a bit, and I did do some more cleaning since family is visiting!! Looking forward to having Dan and Hannah (bro and sis-in-law)here for a week! Yippee!
The kids played outside for almost the whole afternoon as the weather was gorgeous! In the evening, Pastor preached a message on several meanings of the Resurrection. What did the Resurrection mean--for us? Pretty much, Christianity would be a wortheless, baseless religion. If Christ never rose from the grave, it would all be pointless. It proves his power as God over sin, and proves His power to remove sin from our lives and have us live eternally with Him.
Having skipped supper before church, we were starving when we got home and had leftovers. Had plenty of stuff that needed to be finished up in the fridge anyways! Then I hid the 12 Easter eggs we had colored and decorated a couple days ago. Took the kids awhile, as I hid them in some weird places. Dad's shoe, my plant, in between bananas on the kitchen counter etc. They love treasure hunts though! I think I'll have to do this more often. :-)
When the eggs were all found, they begged to eat a couple and then we had Family devotions, played a few games of UNO and sent them off to bed.
All in all, a nice, relaxing, Easter.
