I am so glad no one in this family does anything for April Fool's day! Gone are the days of worrying if the salt is in the sugar jar or the sugar in the salt shaker! My sister(Elizabeth) did get Hannah(sis-in-law) and Dan(my bro) good!
Hannah had made her and Dan two lovely cups of steaming hot coffee...and added what she thought was sugar to them. It was not. It was salt--courtesy of Elizabeth. Nothing like having your morning cup of java spoiled. I am surprised I didn't read of a homicide occurring at that residence in the News this morning. She (same culprit) then put a piece of tape over the water dispenser on the fridge so Hannah was sprayed when she went for a drink of water. I'm thinking it's time for payback, Hannah. Big time! Come up with something good!
In other April Fool's news an...acquaintance (I'll spare her and leave her nameless)...fell for Google's news that they were switching their name to "Topeka". I hadn't read the news for the day yet, and was doing dishes, when this individual went on and on about how she couldn't believe Google had done this! "Imagine what all the kids in school will have to memorize now?! Google, Kansas instead of Topeka, Kansas!" I hadn't given the date much thought, but the more she talked, the less sense it all made, until I realized what the date was and said, "You do realize it's April 1st? It's probably an April Fool's joke." Sure enough. She then checked for it's validity, and found out it a indeed a joke. At least I'm not that far gone! :-P In my old age, I guess I'm not that much fun anymore, because I don't find pranks like jam-on-your-seat funny anymore. Well, I never did find those kinds of pranks amusing. Anything, that wrecks something or is mean-spirited never went over well with me. Creativity is also a plus. The Topeka,Kansas thing was a winner in my book. Funny and Creative! Google has quite the list of hilarious things they've pulled over the last few April Fool's. "MentalPlex" was one of my favorites. It's worth the laugh to click on some of those links!
...and to finish off...here's a link to some of the top April Fool's jokes on the web.
You should have posted this yesterday, maybe I could have pulled some pranks on my family! lol I wasn't feeling well enough to come up with anything on my own. Breanna did try to fool us a couple of times, but it was too cute and we just laughed at her. She hasn't quite mastered the art of April Fool's jokes yet. Enjoyed the time yesterday!! Thanks a bunch!
ReplyDeleteRob and I made a pact not to pull any pranks on each other. I like pulling them, but I hate having them pulled on me, so in the spirit of the Golden Rule, I've stopped doing anything major. And the best one I heard yesterday is that Starbucks announced two new drinks: One that is 128oz and one that is 2oz. Can you even imagine a 128oz coffee?? I'd be up for weeks!
ReplyDeleteI haven't even told my kids about "April Fool's". I'm so bad. Ignorance is bliss right now though. I'd have a couple of horrible teasers if they did know!
ReplyDeletePenni...I had heard of the Starbucks one. It might be in one of the links I posted above too. There's so many great ones out there!
