2 hours.

Two hours of sleep last night. That's all I got. I'm surprised I'm even conscious and typing something right now. I have NO idea why I couldn't sleep! Well...some. I took a nap for once on a Sunday afternoon. Should have known better. Naps always throw my sleeping cycle off--even if I feel like I really need to take one. No matter how tired I get today, I. will. not. nap!!! Did I mention I'm something of an insomniac yet? Any little noise wakes me and I have a horrendous time getting my brain to just shut down for the night. Takes me at least an hour to fall asleep normally.
Daniel still wakes up once a night around 3 or 4 am. Ok. So that's morning. If it's dark out, it's night in my book! Still a hungry guy wanting that extra feeding. He sure seems to eat enough during the day--and right before bed. Oh well. At least it's not two times anymore!

In other news...I was totally bummed with my fireworks purchase. My fault. I should have looked at the packaging closer. There were just smoke and noise producers in there. No sparklers. No fountains. Nothing cool. Found out the laws in Ohio are a whole lot more stringent on doing your own fireworks. Apparently, even fountains are outlawed. Someone please correct me and tell me it's all a bad dream if that's the case! Y'know...for a day that's supposed to celebrate liberty, these laws certainly infringe on them! Just have a bad taste in my mouth about the whole thing, and not over it yet. If I'd known we couldn't have our own fun at home blowing things up, I might have actually tried to make it to one of the BIG firework shows around here.

OK...I'll get over it...maybe...if I complain enough first...

Someone just woke up. I guess that ends my post. It probably should be ended anyways before I say something I regret on 2 hrs. of sleep. Something more to do with fireworks that is...

  1. I don't know...I'm on the side of the law. Too many people (and kids) have bad accidents with those things and set them off in places that catch fire. If you could take an intelligence test prior to the purchase, that would help :)

Heard of a mom with the same problem sleeping as you. She used ear plugs and it changed her world. Her hubby woke her up if the baby needed her...and it sounds like it's time to wean Daniel at night...he's certainly old enough and you need the sleep!

Love the look of the new blog!!!

  2. Well, you know...it's a natural way to cull the stupid people population. :-) I just remember having such a blast (literally) with all that stuff as a kid.

Ear plugs wouldn't help me. I need a brain plug. lol. It's my brain that won't turn off! We already sleep with a fan on and that drowns out noises nicely. It's not noise that is keeping me up.

I don't plan on weaning Daniel until he weans himself--or until he turns 2. Whichever comes first. Just too many health benefits. I'm not putting him on cow's milk either--unless I find a good clean source of it raw. I'm convinced that's what the real problem is for my kids' weird sometimes allergies and eczema. They always sound congested after drinking the pasteurized stuff.

  3. That's a great converstation with Angela! Too funny.

And I didn't mean wean him completely, just at night. Rob's bro had that problem where he kept waking up at night to eat, but didn't really need to. Rob's dad took him a bottle of water instead and after two nights of that, his bro slept through the night.
