Let me sum up.

I realize I haven't updated in awhile for family and friends to know what's been going on around here. Too much going on--not enough time to tell it all.

Let me sum up.

Angela has about 2 more weeks of school left, and she's done with 2nd grade. We're going with Abeka curriculum for both Angela and David this next school year due to the rising cost of having 2 children on harddrive systems. Angela will be in 3rd grade and David in 1st.
BJUPress was more expensive by a few hundred dollars to do just the curriculum without the harddrive than Abeka was minus their DVDs. I'll be the sole teacher next year. Mwuhahahahaha! (or what passes for evil laughter). Well...almost everything will be Abeka. We'll be doing BJUPress for Bible class and Music. Bible--cause it's cheaper and better (IMHO), and Music because I already have the books. Art and other things we'll do from the library.

John is currently giving me crash courses in accounting and Quickbooks as I'm assuming about half the load there--the everyday expenses. He'll keep track of his student loans/mortgage etc. I just finished getting caught up on about 3 months of receipts. Writing a dissertation doesn't jive well with keeping on track with all the accounts. I needed to do something to help free up some brain space for him. ;-)

In other news...

The kids are having a blast on the new outdoor playset John built. Still haven't found the time to waterproof it. It's either too hot or raining when I do have the time.

Daniel turned 14 months old the other day. He's walking all over the place now. The little toddler playset I bought for him at a yard sale is obviously not good enough for him. He walked over to his brother and sister's big playset and climbed up and slid down that slide several times. Don't worry. I kept right with him, but he did it all himself. :-)

It's past midnight...but I finally finished entering all the receipts and I was going to get this blog post out!

  1. Good for you on helping with expenses. I did that for a long time, but now that Rob's done with school, he's taken it back.
