Winter has finally arrived--around here anyways. John actually had to shovel the last couple of days and the grass is completely covered with snow. Winter hasn't really arrived for me until that first big snowfall.
The kids have been having a blast! We were all outside last night "helping" John shovel. Angela had a dustpan she used as a makeshift shovel. David used the car "duster" thing to clean the snow off the van. I held Daniel outside while he stared fascinated at the falling snow and the antics of everyone else. That was his first snowfall to be out and about in.
John's work didn't have any "snow days", but I hear the surrounding schools in the area did. We only had about 3-6". Nothing they'd be closing ANYthing for in Wisconsin. Of course, they're notoriously slow around here in getting the roads plowed or salted. Ours is STILL not plowed. I'm starting to wonder if they ever will, or if we'll be forgotten because we're the last road in a new subdivision.
Yesterday, with the help of my sister (Becky), I managed to get all the grocery shopping AND some clothes shopping with the three kids in tow. Becky had my older two and I had Daniel. Everyone was really good and I got some great deals on the clothes at Walmart. Shirts and jeans are going for $3 there right now!
Tonight is Friday and Nathan and Becky are coming over for a game of Settlers!! I made M&M's from scratch and they've brought over rootbeer! Party time! And on that note, I have a grumpy baby to keep up for another hour, and then the games can commence.
