This week I could have just done without, but I guess I did learn things through it. Still finishing up my antibiotics and getting back to 'normal'. It threw me for quite the loop. It really is amazing how one little infection like that can bring you so far down so fast! I did manage to get in 4 days of exercise--albeit it was the lowest setting on the exercise bike for 30 minutes. My energy was sapped right out of me through this--but I wanted my gift card!
So for "Weigh-in-Monday", I did, indeed, lose 2 lbs.!! Yay! A total of 7 pounds lost so far. Hopefully, I'll be able to build up my stamina and get more energy this week and start actual exercising!
Daniel is still getting over his cold/teething stuff. At least he can breathe better to feed. I almost lost my milk supply through the whole infection thing and tried him on formula and a bottle. Apparently, formula=poison to this child. I tried the formula that was supposed to be the closest thing to breastmilk and a couple different nipples on the bottle. He was having none of it! Then I tried mixing formula with his solid food. So he refused to eat the solid food. He will take water out of a sippy cup and have water mixed with his cereal--but NOT anything to do with formula. So we gave up on that, and thankfully my milk supply was replenished. Tough couple of days though!
My appetite is now back, and just waiting on the whole "energy thing". That's almost all back too. And in good news, he only woke up ONCE last night! Or rather, early morning as it was almost 5 am. Yaaaaaaaaaaay!
If that was Nestle Good Starts, then he was in his right to refuse it! It's the worst formula out there, in my opinion. But babies who are breastfed have a tough time transitioning this late in the game anyway. My sis-in-law got pregnant and lost her milk when her 3rd was only five months old and it took FOREVER to switch her to formula. Hopefully you'll have no more problems with the milk supply! Hey, you could always get a goat...goat's milk is supposed to be superior to formula and cow's milk for babies...or hire a wet nurse....yeah, I'm tired right now.
ReplyDeleteNo it wasn't Nestle Good Starts, and it doesn't seem to matter WHEN I've tried to get them on a bottle. I tried Angela at 3 months. She admantly refused. I don't think I even bothered with David.
ReplyDeleteAnd I was thinking goat's milk...
Heard it was better than cow's. Hadn't heard it was better than formula though.
Yeah, you have to start them in the first two weeks to get them onto a bottle. I know the "experts" say wait longer, but I haven't known of a baby yet who waited that long and transitioned easily, if at all.
ReplyDeleteWell, the "experts" change their minds from year to year...I sometimes wonder if they even have kids!
ReplyDeleteLOL!!!
